What do you think of Blount's punishment? 21 CommentsLeave a comment |
Blount should be thrown in jail for assault
He needs to be suspended for the rest of the season, or kicked off the team. I he can't control and channel his emotion to where it will do good for his team during the game what good is he.
Such a coward; what's the matter? Couldn't Blount hit him during the hours during the game and had to hit him from behind off the field?
He needs kicked off the team, out of school and I hope the pros freeze him out as well.
I hope he's arrested, thrown in prison and let him punch his roomies there. I also hope that Boise player sues Blount in civil court for the maximum amount.

Who gives a rat's patoody? At least they were not playing hocky.
He should NEVER play football again for any team at any time. If ANY Pro team signs him, shame on them.
As a Bronco alum and forever fan, I agree that Blount's act called for hard time. But maybe the Oregon AD might have waited to let his "cooler head prevail". A season long supension is Really Hard Time. I predicted something on the order of 4 games.
I am glad that young Blount didn't immediately blame the BSU Defensive End Hout's comments for the blow. And I hope that doesn't come up.
There is No excuse for his conduct.
This is a tough penalty, but while the cheap shot to the Bronco player is what get's most of the TV time, I think trying to get into the stands to mix it up with spectators was an even greater offense.
Both actions needed to be taken into consideration for his punishment and I think what he got was reasonable.
He got what he desrves, a sucker punch from a losing sucker. From his team talking smack prior to the game in the locker room to his actions, show that the Ducks are just a bunch losers.
got what he deserves. u cant act like that prior to a game and not expect someone to say something back. He was talking smack way before the game 'behind bsu's back' to media. Then a BSU player says it to his face and he can't take it? Acadami and NFL have no place for those actions. Every one in america can look at that and know it's a cheap shot. unfortunate and embarrasing. I feel bad for all the children who were watching.
I believe the punishment fit the crime! As a matter of fact, I find it totally ridicuous that he was allowed to apologize on national TV!! The only reason he in fact did so, was he realized that he would have to pay for his actions! And rightfully so! What an embarrassment to Oregon. I would expect the NFL would black list him from any future opportunities to play. This was no accident! He chose to assault a fellow player of the sport he supposedly loved and upholded!
lets see...drugs alcohol, cheating on spouses, dog fighting, steroids, and the the pro teams make excuses for them all and do all they can to get these people their multi million dollar jobs back and this guy throws a punch. yeah sure hold him accountable, suspend him sure, kick him off the team sure why not. i personally dont care as i got sick and tired of the NBA and now the NFL, i am not going to waste any more of my time watching any of it anymore.
I'm from Boise and I'm disappointed in both players. I think the punishment for Blout is extreme and should not be allowed to play for 4-6 games but obviously has some anger issues to work out. I'm disappointed the Boise State Player wasn't held more responsible for his own actions and words. It takes two to tango!!! Grow up both of you.
I totally agree with "Richard" comments: "I believe the punishment fit the crime! As a matter of fact, I find it totally ridicuous that he was allowed to apologize on national TV!! Also, the Media keeps indicating the "taunting" by the BSU player somehow "caused" the incident...which is an extremely rediculous theory! No matter what BSU was saying, they were NOT throwing punches! They kept themselves under control!
He needs to be accountable for his actions. I would ask the Boise player who was provoking him to comment on the punishment. What would he think was fair consequence. Does he feel he is accountable for his actions?f
I can't believe that people are trying to justify this by saying Hout somehow provoked tis. They just won a huge game and was celebrating just like hundreds of players across the nation do after every hard fought battle. Bluont should get arrested and the state should prosecute him for assault just like any other person. Please tell me why he should get away with a slap on the wirst like this. If the police saw this in pulic they would not hesitate to haul anyone in and not wait for a compliant to be filed. Seriously Blount just got away with a crime on national TV waht is this saying to the general public? If you happen to be important enough it's ok to do whatever you want and not worry about the laws in our country.
Mr. Silvi, Thank you for your opinion on NWCN for the decision made by the Oregon Atheletic Department and coaching staff in the Blount situation. But now days, there are to many arm chair quarterback like yourself making decisions without all of the facts. If this would have been a sand lot game, someone would be dead now from a gun shoot. Let decisions be made at the level they need to be and quit destroying the system with opinions. Make people accountable for what they do now days. I can tell you're a pretty good trash talker, if you competative station announcer chicken punched you in the mouth would you want him banded from his or her broadcast for 3 days? No, you would be the first in line at the attorneys office the next morning taking his job away. What is the difference.
Getting kicked in the groin.
Blount has a serious problem. He should be ousted from football for life, college and pro. He has the Michael Vick Syndrom for violence, and should not be allowed to play sports. This uncontrolable anger of his will only escalate some day and cause serious injury or death to someone. I say STOP IT NOW......
We Don`t and should`nt allow this anywhere in Oregon or our schools. I belive he SHOULD be kicked off the team out of school and out of the state. He def. has anger issues he has proved that on TV, I hope the pros band him too. where do we draw the line and say certain kind of actions are Ok but other actions are not Ok? ANY assault is a crime and not accepted. ((Kick him OFF TEAM)
Appropriate. Blount showed himself to not only be a sore loser but an immature child. I'm not so sure he shouldn't have been kicked of the team permanently. He would have deserved it.
