I am so glad that the president has overturned this ban order on stem cell research. Organized religion has for centuries stood in the way of Scientific progress, It is a disgrace that research into, and hopes for a cure, for many debilitating diseases has been curbed by political and religious ideologies. Thank you president OBAMA !

The only thing controversial about Obama's reversal of Bush's executive order is whether our country's politics will continue to be controlled by a minority fringe group that passionately believes that their specific, non-rational view of reality is prescriptive; that is, that anything which is told them by their self-elected hierarchy of ideological dictators is TRUE and anyone who espouses any other belief--no matter how well-founded in evidence or logic--is wrong, probably evil.

At this point the embryonic cells are not needed. In my biology class last week our professor told us that scientists have discovered that they can erase the genetic information of any healthy cell. Thus any healthy cell can become whatever cell is needed. Even before this discovery the original stem cells were taken from the umbilical cord and not from an aborted fetus.
I applaude Obama, it is time that our nation became an educated and honorable place to live. We are so absurdly behind scientific innovation and I think it is most unfortunatly due to religious fanatics shoving their ficticious book down everyone's throats. I look forward to the day when your avarage American makes desicions based on logic and research rather that stupid book! GO SCIENCE!!!
As a Christian, I value human life; therefore, I don't think we should be using embryonic stem cells. HOWEVER, there are placental and umbilical stems cells that have the SAME effect at embryonic! Why don't we look more into this and use those non-life disrupting cells? There is no scientific evidence that embryonic stem cells are any "better" than umbilical or placental (which are bi-products of birth). Let's use all or money to fund them instead of promoting abortion.

If it doesn’t make them money big business and republicans want no part of it.
Capitalism is like an hour glass tipped to one side. With a select few having all the money and the rest are middle to poverty. By stepping on everyone at the bottom to get there. That is what capitalism promotes. The strongest to survive and the weak to die.

How about we all think about human safety - ABORTION and EMBRYONIC Stem Cells are killing humans, plain and simple. No matter how you sugar coat it with your rights. Feminism was never meant to be about killing our babies, freedom comes from being able to say NO beforehand.
Myself personally do not believe in abortion. However, we as humans are stuborn and are going to do what we want. If someone wants an abortion, they go and get one. But this is my opinion about what to do with this controversial issue... If a fetus is needed for stem-cell research then, make a law stating that all aborted fetuses are required to be donated to stem-cell research. This makes the best of both worlds happy.

I have to say, this world has gone mad for decades and keeps getting worse! To kill, torcher anything or anyone is flat out Wrong.I think a real person ,would help the already sick person or animals as best they could and learn from it.Research has been going on forever and the horrors behind closed doors, hidden up till now,and with all the pain and suffering inflicted to another living being,I have to say Where is the cures for all these major diseases, like cancer, etc.?Another decade from now, research will have to find other ways to hurt and have permission from gov. and people like you and me.Researchers have no limits or remorse, like so......many people now days. Its just going to keep getting worse. Its so easy to kill and inflict pain for people from all walks of life and even our children have no problem getting involved in hurting and killing.I watch animal planet and I've seen them save lives with the knowledge already given and able to use what they already know to find ways to better their skills. They don't have to inflict or hurt to find ways to better themselves. So you keep believing all this hog wash, and after you dye, others will too and they will still be looking for a way to beat death.People can never be satified. The difference between you and me is....I don't want to die,but I have limits and morals and I cannot condone hurting or killing over and overand I don't want to go hungry or go without, but I'm not willing to take from someone else or kill for it.
