Several hundred people rallied at the Oregon state Capitol to protest pending legislation that would require proof of legal residence to get an Oregon driver's license. Oregon is one of only a handful of states that does not require such proof. Should you have to show proof of legal residence to get a driver's license? 5 CommentsLeave a comment |
I beleive that legal residence should be required, and I wish the governor of Washington would do the same if you give them a drivers license you are more less calling them citizen show legal proof or NO license.
Every person desiring to obtain a drivers license should show
valid proof of legal residence. NO exceptions!
Yes I think that showing proof of a valid address should by mandatory. Unless you are illegal, than you should have nothing to hide by showing such information. Chances are if you are hiding from the law and that is your reason for not showing residencey, then you are unlikely to be driving with a valid license anyhow, so why put up a protest. Like most laws - they just keep the honest people honest and the guilty ones will just keep doing as they please anyhow.
Prove you are legal!! How many illegals are going to drive legally...with insurance?
This seems to me like a "no-brainer"!!! Of course people should have to prove they are legal citizens with no exceptions. As stated above, the only people who have a problem with it are the people who have something to hide. We should stop giving the illegal "resident" all the breaks that they have.
