Al Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize

Al Gore says he's hoping his new Nobel Peace Prize will "elevate global consciousness" about the challenges of global warming.

Gore was awarded the prize Friday along with an international network of scientists.

They were honored for spreading awareness about man-made climate change, and for laying the foundations for dealing with that change.

Sen. Larry Craig to be Inducted into Idaho Hall of Fame

Sen. Larry Craig has been chosen for induction into the Idaho Hall of Fame, despite his well-publicized arrest and guilty plea in an airport sex sting, officials said.

The nonprofit Idaho Hall of Fame Association picked Craig in March, months before he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a Minneapolis airport police officer accused him of soliciting sex in the men's restroom, the organization's board chairman said.

President Bush vetoed a bipartisan measure that would have boosted a children's health-insurance program by 35 billion dollars.

Bush says he believes in "private medicine, not the federal government running the health care system."
