President Bush is going to address the nation tomorrow to endorse General David's Petraeus' plan to withdraw 30,000 troops from Iraq by the end of next summer. What do you think of this plan? Does it go far enough? 5 CommentsLeave a comment |
With this administrations track record with not telling the truth the whole truth and nothing but... makes me a bit wary of General BETRAYUS' reports. I think we should just get out and see what happens. If we need to return if things go bad then wouldn't our new buddies, the Iraqi government, just welcome us back??? Obviously the current gig is not working.
go far enough? how far is it when you sent in an extra 30,000 for a year then bring that many home. isnt that getting back to square one? this is bushes version of a really slow shell game. maybe he hopes if he moves slow enough nobody wont notice what he isnt doing. i feel like hiding in a cave for the next year so i dont have to hear about this idiot anymore.
So far the comments I've read are nothing more than adolescent, antagonistic incomplete thoughts. General Petraeus has taken a genuine lash up and is doing a commendable job of trying to get us out of Iraq as safely as possible. President Bush is allowing our military leaders to make military decisions. The Liberals would rather run things on a popularity scale. In my fews years here on earth I have come to discover those screaming "Peace" the loudest are usually doing their best to undermine it.
Gregory, you absolutely prove without a doubt that "Ignorance is bliss!"
Here is a message for you:
"The real Jesus forgives your Jesus for being a greedy, Republican warmonger."
By the way why aren't you in Iraq? I did my stint in the military, have you?
Below is excerpts from the Sunnyside, Wa. “Daily Sun News”
GRANDVIEW - Army Specialist Matthew "Matt" Emerson, son of L.J. and Ginger Emerson of Grandview, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 while serving in Mosul, Iraq.
Emerson's character extended into all areas of his life. Grandview High School Principal Mike Closner was a teacher at the school when Emerson graduated in 2005. "He was just an outstanding young man," Closner said. "The values and morals he had were extremely high," he said. "He took pride in defending his country. Matt was a very dedicated individual with a strong sense of drive." "He was one of the hardest working young men we've had. He never complained. He always led by example."
End of excerpt.
My wife was Matt’s second grade school teacher. His sister and my daughter were best friends graduating from high school together. L. J. and Ginger are solid members of this small community.
I am sorry but I have a jaded view. But, we cannot continue to sacrifice our young men and women in countries where we are not wanted, trying to establish a government that is not wanted, under mistaken assumption that what we are doing is going to detour something worse that might happen in the future. What have we gained for all the lives that have been lost from Korea in the late 40"s to Iraq today?
