Obviously he takes instructions from President Bush who finally got the message from his republican party that is suffering because of his bad presidential, bull-headed decisions.
Good luck to Mr Gonzales.
I hope he reinstates his ethical morals in the future.

Bush and Cheney still need to go.

Yes, he was a poor representative to lead the JUSTICE ? department. I don't believe that Bush will replace him with a person who will truly uphold, protect and defend the Constitution. Bush isn't living up to his own oath, he has taken at least twice that I know of, to protect the Constitution. He doesn't realize he is our servant not our king.

the news says bush visits the northwest, it looked to me like he inconvenienced the northwest. the last time bush and reichert got together that school bus driver got fired for giving bush the finger and reichert got caught taking credit for busting her when he didnt.

im thinking we all would be better off if bush went back to texas and stays there and if that bus driver ever runs she is getting my vote.

I was sitting there, on my couch, watching his resignation speech and I was waiting for him to just walk off that stage and right in to the back of a police car. I am ACTUALLY SURPRISED, and sickened that there weren't cops standing there waiting to arrest him. Just like Rumsfeld, I was screaming at the TV that they just let a KILLER go free. Sick. What the hell is wrong with this country????? Oh well, just keep complacent!!!

alberto gonzalez should of stayed in wa.he was just following orders.it was hes boss the president(bush) that told him what to do.gonzalez

He should not have resigned. The democrats have been after everything Republican for the last 6 years. Clinton fires almost all the attorney generals when he takes over and no one thinks twice. Every president has that option and most take it. Bush waits for his second term to fire a handful and one would think he broke a law. There is a double standard in Washington DC and the democrats are the biggest offenders of it.

When are the democrats going to start doing something worthwhile? When are they going to tackle issues like Social Security, Health Care, unemployment, poverty, get the border fence built and illegals sent home, etc. instead of the issues that are less important?

Maybe the democrats will have the courage to transfer all the funds in their retirement system to Social Security, which they pay none into, and try living off what that would pay them? Why not be the ones to change the law so they receive nothing on retirement after leaving office until they are age 65? No one in Washington DC has the courage to do this.

thank goodness Gonzales is finally steped down, i thought he was shameless like bush , though I thought it's past over due for him. he should have resigned since last year when the democrats took control the congress (refer to chickenhawk Rummy run away just one day after november election!)speaking about double standard ? Oh well, republicans are the winner ! Anyone want to argue about "family value" talk to me , I can grill you!

A true Democrat (I am glad I am the majority now!)
