Do you think Michael Vick should be allowed to play in the NFL during his trial involving charges related to dog-fighting?

No,i dont think he should have the right to play,he has been charged with a felony crime,i think if he was the average joe,he would still be behind bars and not free on bail.

I think that Vick messed up. I don't think that he should get kicked out of the NFL. I mean come on we all mess up. He is a good football player. So I hope he plays this season!

Victoria said:

NO WAY! The Falcons should have dumped him already and my decision (long ago) not to purchase Nike products (even though I am an Oregonian) is cemented.

Vick is a loser and so is Nike.

i hate this. innocent until proven guilty, he and his lawyers are going to get him a deal none of us working people could ever get. he should be suspended and forfit pay if convicted. it would take me nearly 250 years to earn what he makes in one. even if he gets kicked out of the NFL and goes to jail and losses all of his sponsors the man ainte gonna starve when he gets out.

Michael should never be allowed to play football again and all of his assets should be appropriated for animal welfare groups as well as do maximum jail time when found guilty. Completely unforgivalble to harm innocent animals. You would have to be very mentally deranged to do anything he is charged with.

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. AND.....NIKE BETTER DUMP HIM OR MANY WILL DUMP NIKE. EVEN IF HIS LAWYERS GET HIM OFF....DUMP HIM!

Animals are one of the greatest joys in life. Animal cruelty is unforgivable. He needs to be held up as an example and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He should have to do the maximum 6 years and be fined 6 million dollars and never be allowed to play football again.

why are celebrities and sport stars treated differently? Look around us and what is happeing with out stars, being wild and out of control is supposedly cool. Throw him behind bars if he is guilty, ban him for a year from football just because he is implicated in this. Pete Rose got banned from the hall of fame for life for betting on baseball, this is by far a more horrific act. If vick is guilty - nail him

People are more concerned about dogs fighting and NFL players than killing unborn babies. This is sick.

Quinn said:

I think Vick should go to jail for a long time, because Joey Harrington is now starting because of this whole thing!! Ya!

... Jamison... Abortion is legal, dog fighting is not. What IS SICK, however, is that in 2007, religions superstitions still control people; even though there is no scientific data to prove religion. Go burn incense and throw some water on your pillow, while talking to yourself.

The NFL needs to get rid of the bad boys, lest folks like me turn off of professional football like we have of professional basketball. Who wants to watch precocious, tatooed, pierced, criminals run up and down a court/field? The system is bankrupt. Suspend him for a couple years. If he can still compete after he gets out of jail, then he can play. Goodall, get a set!

Yes, I think he should be allowed to play (subject to NFL decisions). Preventing him from playing (and earning a living) while his trial is going on is tantamount to punishing him before he's been judged.

Michael Vick should be able to play in the NFL. The law states that you are innocent until proven guilty. He claims his innocence therefore he should be able to play.

Ken said:

What is forgotten here is that we are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The filing of charges was never intended to be a presumption of guilt. This is why we have due process. To penalize this man in any why based soley on an accusation, which is what this is, is totally against the intent of the constitution. Consider how you would feel to lose your job based only on an accusation, irregardless of your pay scale.

Sandra McCarthy said:

Absolutely NOT, he shouldn't be allowed to play. There's all of these people saying that he hasn't received a fair trial yet but would they feel that way if Jeffrey Dahmer's bodies were discovered in his refrigerator and he was in the NFL, and he simply hadn't had his trial YET... Sorry but if enough hard core evidence is STACKED against you, it warents action. As far as I'm concerned, Mike Vick is a SCUMB BAG that deserves to widdle away his loser time in prison where he clearly has always belonged.

As much as I would like to hang the folks who fight these dogs from the top of the Space Needle They have the same right you and I do. Innocent until proven guilty. My gawd, guilty or not life as he knew it is over. If Atlanta lets him play until it is all over so be it it won't be for long anyway especially now that his buddy has turned States Evidence.

Diane said:

Vick should be banned from ANY sport in the future! Children look up to these guys, is this what we want our kids to think is appropriate behavior?

Debbie said:

Being an owner of a Pit Bull, its things like these that give the breed a bad name! Vick should be treated like the dogs he was involved in killing!!

jturner said:

Innocent until proven guilty. The media makes a mockery out of everything. Who knows what was really going on and why do we care.Personally, if he wants to have dog fights, who cares. There are way to many dogs in the world anyways. They used to allow cock fighting until animal activists screamed, and that ended. Funny how our nation protects animals better than it cares about black people, or the number of people Bush is killing every minute in Iraq, Iran and Afghanastan. America has its priorities messed up.

why should professional ball players be alowed to violate the law? is there a double standard? this guy should go to jail
and maybe sleep over night with a mean dog

SANDY said:

THEY NEED TO DUMP HIM, WHAT HE DID IS UNFORGIVABLE, MAYBE THEY OUGHT TO DO TO HIM WHAT HE DONE TO THOSE POOR ANIMALS

duke said:

Anyone who answers yes is playing fantasy football and can't afford to play without Vick. Well welcome to the real world, theres no fantasy here. No put him in prison and force him to fight prisoners.

Loretta said:

NO WAY--he does not deserve to play any longer and should by NO MEANS GET ANY PAY!!!!! He is a disgrace to the game.

Bill said:

Why not? The NFL still allows Leonard Little to play after he killed an innocent human being all because he wanted to get drunk and drive his car on his birthday. Vick's behavior is bad, but no worse than Little's or any of the other soon to be convicted felons in the NFL

Barbie said:

I think that the NFL should terminate his contract, ask for all advanced money back and never allow Vick or any other NFL player that gets into trouble to play in the NFL again. The players seem to care more about how much money they can get signed for without being a part of the team. They no longer care about the love of the game. I also think the NFL should rethink the unrealistic amounts of money they pay these players. Are they truely worth it or does it take away the true meaning of the game. I know it's taken my love of the game away. Barbie

As much as we would like to think Michael is guilty, we must not bypass one of the governing laws of our country and court system.

Innocent Till Proven Guilty.

By deciding to try him in the court of public opinion and cast judgment on him without due process makes you no better then the criminals themselves our system is in place to convict. This is a simple act of stealing the freedom of one without all the facts. Yes the evidence seems to paint a horrible image of events which seemingly took place at the

However, that being said, I applaud firms such as Nike, NFL.COM and some Vick's other sponsors for their actions of not terminating their relationships but rather suspending them indefinably while the judicial system goes through is process. By the NFL Commissioner asking Michael to remain home from preseason and most likely until a resolution has come forth, I feel this is a fair order given the high profile ness of the case and the distraction this causes for all Atlanta Falcon players, personnel and the league.

In no way am I defending the guy, but rather giving him a fair chance, and ask people to wait till all the facts come forth.
