I do not think it is a local law maker's job to take a stand on international affairs. They are hired to administer local affairs.

Local lawmakers should spend their energy where they have influence and can make a difference. They have no business taking a stand in international issues.

For local lawmakers to take a stand on International and National affairs is to arrogantly assume that Oregonians agree with them. I can speak for myself when it comes to these issues and I resent lawmakers assuming to speak for me. They should stick to the what we pay them for.

Local lawmakers who pass resolutions on national or international issues should be fired/recalled.
We've got enough local issues to resolve without them wasting time spouting-off about something that they have no control over.

Portland is a port city. Seattle already had their issue with retaliations from our foreign policies before 9/11. Don't you all remember?
Have you forgotten how much cargo is really being inspected at the ports?

Local, What have we forgotten World Wide War on Terror! We may have opions, keep vigilant, those who ingnor the threat may wake to find our enemy at are door. If we were to have called for an end to our most critical battles during World War II where would our Chamberlin look alikes be. Our enemies must look at a position Unified. Weakness will kill Service personal. Give the support to a resolve that will end sectarian issues both here at home and abroad.

I don't think it is as simple as yes or no. Local leaders are local for a reason. However, things aren't always as simple as just local, national, and international. Things move around. I think it all depends on the circumtances. But the local leader's first priority should be how the issue effects the local community, and how the local community feels about it.

Since the dawn of civilization man has needed very little, food, clothing and housing - We've gone a bit beyond that but not far, our needs remain the same as they have always and will always. However it is our way that must change, our edjucation, health, military and on the list goes...
When men do not fish or farm for their food it is inevitable that another man must, this congress, it's army, is all feed by its constipuats. Their pressence is forced and I belive the point of people coming to America was to NOT have a dictator or group of people dictating the countrys future.
I believe that people need to stop paying tribute and attention to the men who have taken our country and dictated the future of it's people. The people of the countrys of not just America but the world do not need laws, they need edjucation, accountability and of course their freedom.
When one man has no choice but to pay taxes for the sole purpose of providing for others than that man's burdens have doubled. This is what America faces now..I wish to speak more but mucst head out, thanks for listening.
