Do you think the Iraq Study Group's key recommendations will help end the violence in Iraq?

i dont think anything will ever end the violence in iraq. that is one of the saddest things about this whole mess, we lost thousands of our young and tens of thousdans wounded and for what?

what we managed to do was stir up the bees nest and get a whole lot of people killed. i dont like people like saddam but the irony of this is he got convicted of killing what? 140 people. im hearing numbers as high as 100,000 deaths scince our invasion.

how many do we need to kill to prove that saddams killing was wrong? maybe we should just let the hatfields and mc coys feud it out. maybe one day they will either wipe each other out or grow tired of it and figure out how to get along.

If we leave Iraq before the Iraqi government can gain control of it's own people then Iraq and all surrounding countries will become a malignant cancer for the whole world--spreading terrorism.

The scales of justice used in America do not equate to Iraqi concept of justice. You can't turn around a country to peaceful co-existence that is so murderously bent of staying murderous.

I feel that if we follow the recommendations of the study group it would be like shooting our selfs, to set a timeline to widthdraw just tells the terrorists when to sit back till and then make their move to gain control of Iraq with another Dictator and why would we ever want to meet with countries that feel the world is better off with out a United States and would love to kill all Americans because of our belief in freedom. I find this so called study group another one of Washington's big wastes of our TAX PAYERS DOLLARS to get alot of nothing done except put a SPIN on the situation once again to fit the agenda of just stick our heads in the sand and do not look beyond our own shore lines, that is why 911 HAPPENED. I am SICK of are you a Lib or a Conservative, I am an AMERICAN.

It is a Blue Print to defeat. The Rat's want to hand Bush a defeat and they don't mind taking the country down with him. How sad is that. We are at WAR and people die, it is convert to Islam or die. I will choose the later, I will fight til the death, our country is worth fighting for. This just a fancy way to say "CUT AND RUN" the chickens way out.

The war in Iraq is a mess, on that we all agree. However instead of theses politicians blaming it all on President Bush and the former Sec. of Defense Rumsfeld, why dont they decide to take a stand for once in their lives? For all of them that voted for the WAR, and now are against it, doesn't that make anyone take pause and think, or have we become a nation of out of sight, out of mind? The citizens of Iraq who want a free country deserve the help of this greatest nation under GOD!

With out reading the report itself, and only what's covered by the news media.

By putting more "instructors/trainers" in country sounds just like a little war just fews years ago, "vietnam" and even then the country put more boots on the ground back then, and it's no difference now!

I speak with a Mother's heart. I have a 25 year-old son in the armed forces. However, I am also the daughter of a father who was a prisoner of WWII. He was missing in action for over two years. He escaped from the Germans in April of 1945. He is gone, but these are His words to me in a letter."There are countless that go through all the formalities of being a Christian but do not Honor an obligation. They don't keep their Word, and they won't fight for their country but EXPECT their country to protect them. How many Americans would be dead now if our soldiers were not holding the enemy at bay? My father spent most of his time at Stalag 3-B Furstenberg, Germany. Quote:"We witnessed the bombing of Berlin when it was rugged at the last. I started making marks above my bunk and lost track after 80 consecutive bombings. The Germans got a big bang out of the thought that we might be wiped out by our own Allied bombs-- much of the flack and shrapnel fell in our camp. Some of our boys were wounded during the air raids when the guards would become excited or angered and start shooting wild into the barracks." I cried when I first read my father's story, he suffered greatly. Maybe, we should bomb the enemy into submission the way we did Germany. Also, after the rubble is cleared away then we can help them to build not the other way around. Unless we show the enemy we mean business by dropping bomb after bomb, they are just waiting. Waiting for us to leave, waiting to take control, and waiting for another opportunity to strike down all infidels. They have made it clear very clear they want us defeated. The Red, White, and Blue are Colors that NEVER Run! I pray someone in Washington has the Guts to Stand up and Do what It Takes to Get this Job Done. Amen.

Having read the Iraq Study Group report, I am impressed that SELDOM before have we ever seen such a distinguished and experienced group produce a document that is sophmoric and totally unrealistic in its recommendations. The idea that embedding US troops in Iraqi elements would somehow REDUCE the risk to US soldiers is ridiculous.
Perhaps the ISG would have the Dixie Chicks teach Iran and Syria to "Make Nice". Overall, I doubt that the ISG report will be credited with reducing casualties since the media and new Congress are determined to lay ALL casualties at Bush's feet.
