What can you say about a man that stepped up to the plate to fill the job as president in such a scandalous and difficult time; even when people were resigning in front of him.
Men like Gerald Ford show the true character of the United States.

Gerald Ford bacame president about the same year as I became aware of politics. I always enjoyed watching him.if no other reason to see if he would fall down.
This made him human to all of us. Not some "king" but just a clutzy guy that we all loved. His humor and humanitarianizm will be missed. He is the kind of guy we need now.

Subject: Your Assistant Manager, Christy in Federal Way, WA was too busy to lower the American flag out of respect for the death of President Ford !!
Your Assistant Manager Christy in Federal Way was “too busy to have one of her store helpers” lower the American flag out of respect for the death of President Ford even as late as Noon today … long after all the other local business somehow found time to lower their flags.
What does that teach your employees and your customer’s children about American values and Wal-Mart ?
I checked several times over the period of an hour and a half and it hadn’t been changed to the half staff position.
Apparently she knew about the death of our former President who helped to end the Vietnam War ( about the time that Christy was born I would guess) and allowed Assistant Manager Christy to rise to the rank of Assistant Manger
But …
… WHAT kind of Customer Service training are you giving your Assistant Manager in Federal Way, WA, Sir ??
And as for “politeness” which she showed none of … well that should be just a preferred trait for your management team members shouldn’t it ?

Gerald Ford was probably the last of Republicans that had integrity and had a heart. A President of all people not the president of special interests. He was a man of his word and did put faith back into government. Now all his efforts appear to be undone by the current administration again creating distrust in government. Gerald Ford was a real leader to the American people.

I'm pleased the President Ford's thoughts about current Republican leaders were made public. With pictures of his funeral dominating the media, I wonder what Ford would have said about this administration's ban on showing flag drapped coffins of our kids killed in Iraq?

President Ford's casket missed a stop at Vail, Colorado. Otherwise, he seems to have made many memorable stops on his way to the Michigan grave site.
