This country is voting this election based on the War in Iraq. We as a country have proven once again that we do not have a stomach for war like our grandparents did. This country could never support a WWII nor a Korea again because we have a romantic view of war. We expect war to equal no casualties. WAKE UP war is hell and there are casualties. We have two HUGE threats on the horizon in Iran and N. Korea and this election continues to show the world that the average American does not care about global issues just about themselves.

I agree this country is headed down into the abyss..

DEMOCRATS = SOCIALISM

This makes me sick to be an American....

This channel generally covers the news well but there's been no mention of the widespread voter fraud being perpetrated all over the country including robocalling which is sending people to the wrong polling places, fake ballots and Diebold voting machines historically shown to be fixed. In fact Diebold's CEO promised before the 2000 elections "We will ensure a win for Bush". This is corruption of our American system of representation.

The only reason I can think that NWCN doesn't cover these issues is because they are being told they can't. Belo Corporation is a national corporation which owns NWCN so it's not too surprising they don't act with an independent spirit. Sound outrageous? Do some research. I don't care if Democrats or Republicans or Independants win it's about freedom and the American way which is being corrupted here. Be a good American and speak up. There's more to do than flag waving.

just remember who lied to the american people to get us into this war in the first place and also dont forget bush was warned before he did it.

the people of this country are not afraid to stand by what is right. they have done it before and they will do it again. remember what bush said when he was confronted with not finding any WMDs. well we got the bad guy!

REPUBLICANS = PEDOFILE LIARS

there is something i do agree with you about. i too am sick to be an american... it comes directly from the white house.

I've heard projected winners in Washington, Oregon and California and absolutely nothing from Idaho! Aren't we still in your coverage area?

I just hope we can focus more on the needs of the citizens of the united states and not just profits for corporations, it looks like the people understand the difference by the results I have seen so far.

As an employee of WA State Government, the following disturbs me about the registering to vote, validating someone "registering" to vote, and how voting is conducted. I really think NWCN should do an show to highlight these issues:
(1) There has been a huge "push" to have State agencies make it very easy for someone to register to vote. In the welfare office, we hand out the forms to everyone applying for benefits to complete, they turn them back in, and we mail them off. We not only serve citizens, but documented as well as undocumented aliens. Who checks to see if someone should be issued that voter's ID card? Are there any checks or balances to verify if the person is actually a citizen eligible to vote?
(2)How do you know if someone is already registered to vote in another State? What checks or balances are done?
(3) How do you know if someone registering to vote is eligible to vote? Example: What if they are felons and banned from voting?
(4) I really hate the mail in voting. Not only do I have the questions above, but I really feel that you should ID the person voting and make sure that they are eligible to vote.
(5) Without having a better system for voting government will always play with the numbers.

Fix the problems! Make simple, easy rules for voting! Allow people to vote "any" party and please do not limit them to voting for one party! Rules should not be so complicated. If someone votes, their vote should be counted. PERIOD.

Yeah this election has a lot to do with Iraq. Why shouldn't it??? Are you kidding? It's a slaughter over there. That war is sick. Cooked up by the government to steal oil and obtain world control. Are you so brainwashed you think it's something America "needs"? The so-called insurgents are people defending their own country from invaders just like we would if there was a full-scale head on invasion by troops roaming around on our streets shooting at people and dropping bombs. Wake up! These kind of wars are weakening America. Our entire economy is falling off a cliff because the Republicans are handing over billions in money to companies and shady regimes overseas.

I was the Provisional Ballot Judge at Denny Terrace at Melrose and Denny downtown Seattle and we not only came one ballot close to running out at 7:15 (extras arrived!) but the main reason so many people needed to vote "Provisional" was because they never received their Absentee Ballots. Also, there were dozens of people whose names simply didn't appear anywhere--all people who should have been on the main voters list. I've been Provisional Judge twice before and these problems were absolutely new. We need to know what happened to these people's records and why. Thank God the dems won anyway, but at this posting the Reichert/Burner votes are still being counted and I understand that what happened at our precinct (actually 7 precincts) happened all over Washington.
